Richard Nahas, MD - LDN 2023

Dr. Nahas is a former ER physician who became interested in non-drug approaches to healing after a two-year backpacking trip around the world. For the past ten years, he has practiced interventional pain management in Ottawa with a multidisciplinary team, with a special interest in the Polytrauma Clinical Triad, which includes chronic pain, post-concussion syndrome and post-traumatic stress disorder.

His published work includes NIH-sponsored clinical trials, national guidelines and evidence-based reviews. He has also become skilled in acupuncture, manual therapy and other modalities. These are used in a combined approach to pain management that integrates mind, breath, movement and exercise. He is focused on blockages as a medical discovery of historic importance, and developing clinical resources to help patients and providers transition to blockage-based care. He is also developing mobile data tools to crowdsource evidence from CAM providers and their patients, to foster a more personalized and patient-centered approach to evidence-based integrative medicine.
